Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
Apocalypse Again.
This successful franchise based on the video game brings back Mila Jovovich for the sixth time as the no nonsense Alice, who spends the first half hour fighting monsters and bizarre creatures before she encounters her nemesis, Dr Alexander Isaacs (Iain Glen). He is the one who has orchestrated the Apocalypse as he believes the world needs another Biblical catastrophe like Noah’s flood...
Jovovich has become an icon – like Kate Beckinsale in the Underwold series – for her feisty heroine and delivers once again the goods kicking ass like there's no tomorrow. She even sends herself up saying, with a twinkle in her eye, “I feel as if I have been doing this all my life, running and killing.” Glen tries hard but can’t escape the fact that his extreme and brutal villainous role is of the stereotypical kind. Still, it is an enjoyable adventure despite the machine gun editing and repetitive action. I wouldn’t be surprised if they bring back Alice for yet another final chapter.
