PETER BROWN
(5 October 1935 - 21 March 2016)
Never a Hollywood star, Peter Brown started performing in the Army and then trained at UCLA. Like many male actors he was snapped up in the 1950s and ’60s by television for the many Western series prevalent at the time: Tenderfoot, Maverick, Lawman, Cheyenne, Wagon Train, Laredo, The Virginian, along with many other television appearances. In between TV roles he made films including Samuel Fuller’s Merrill’s Marauders, Summer Magic with Hayley Mills, Ride the Wild Surf with Fabian and Three Guns for Texas with Neville Brand etc. Rarely out of work – over 100 credited roles in an almost fifty-year career – Brown contributed to countless films, TV series and TV movies. His final film in 2006, Hell to Pay, featured a nostalgic number of old-timers from westerns of the past.
